Why?

Fantastic, this will give the launch and gpl release campaign the final kick! Working side by side and getting to know each other is the best we can do.

Where?

Guaka, Paolo and others are currently setting up a hacklab in Trento, centro sociale Bruno. Trento is a small city in the North of Italy, somewhere between Venezia, Verona, Milano and Austria.

Bruno is a huge building very close to the railway station. There's a wireless connection (also in the entire city center of Trento) and we have over 50 computers lying around on which we are installing various kinds of GNU/Linux at this very moment.

How?

I'm pretty sure we can set up a BeWelcome developers Collective here if there is enough interest. We can arrange sleeping places for many people - if needed, but I would like to keep some focus (i.e. no NZ party collectives ;)

Who and when?

Update: Guaka is traveling to NYC, probably all of September. So, the collective might happen "not in September - unless Paolo and Dennis want to do it."

Guaka is thinking of a duration between 3 (one weekend) and 10 days (weekend+week+weekend) in September, but it depends on on your interest and availability. Add yourself to this list if you're interested, also add your reasons for coming and how much time you want to spend.

living in Trento:

  • Guaka, organizer, BW dev and wiki guru, all the time
  • Paolo (but I'm away from September 2nd until September 10th), all the time
  • Dennis, will be in Trento from Sept. 11th, don't know exactly how much time I can offer the project, but some, yes! I'm in Trento only during the short week (Mon-Fri), so I think we should think about the longest option for the collective :)

from elsewhere:

  • Meinhard: helping with setting up, available until 27th of September (hackmeeting in Pisa)
  • Jean-Yves: BW core dev, 1 or 2 days
  • Michael: interested
  • Toni: first week September. But as I'm not really a programmer, better do it later when more people are availble
  • Jeroen: a lot of buts, possibly after the September 16th
